Margherita Pizza is a classic Italian pizza that is made with pizza dough, tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella cheese, basil leaves, salt, pepper, and olive oil. It is a simple yet flavorful dish that showcases the quality and freshness of the ingredients. Here is how to make Margherita Pizza:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 6-8 fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil, for drizzling

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 500°F or as high as it will go. If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to preheat as well.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to the desired thickness and shape.
  • Place the pizza dough on a pizza peel or a flat baking sheet that has been dusted with cornmeal or flour. This will help the pizza slide off easily onto the preheated pizza stone, if you are using one.
  • Spoon the tomato sauce over the pizza dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border around the edge.
  • Arrange the sliced mozzarella cheese on top of the tomato sauce.
  • Tear the basil leaves and sprinkle them over the cheese.
  • Season the pizza with salt and pepper, to taste.
  • Drizzle a little olive oil over the pizza.
  • Transfer the pizza to the preheated pizza stone, if you are using one, and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy your delicious Margherita Pizza!

  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is softened.

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1 1/2 cups of mozzarella cheese, 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese, eggs, and parsley.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • To assemble the lasagna, spread 1/4 of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with 3 lasagna noodles, 1/3 of the cheese mixture, and another 1/4 of the meat sauce. Repeat these layers twice more, then sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup mozzarella and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese on top.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
